The MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a part-time faculty member to join our team in the new online Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program (PPOTD), which enrolled its first cohort of students in fall 2020. The MGH Institute of Health Professions is a fully accredited graduate school located in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard overlooking downtown Boston. The Institute is the only degree-granting member of Mass General Brigham (the largest health care provider in New England). Many of our graduate programs are highly rated by U.S. News & World Report.  The Institute has been recognized multiple times by The Chronicle of Higher Education as a “Great College to Work For.”  This position represents a unique opportunity for a visionary professional to support the Institute’s goals of developing and implementing accessible online post-professional education for occupational therapists, in order to optimize health care outcomes and service delivery for diverse communities.

Faculty will be responsible for course development, implementation, and evaluation, student advising, developing collaborative opportunities with other health professions, and contributing to interprofessional education within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. This position will include recruitment and training of Innovation Project mentors, including recruiting and mentoring students.  This position will include select service on program committees and participation in scholarly activities. This position is available with a remote option, requiring on-campus visits each semester and at necessary student / departmental events (e.g. on-site orientation, commencement).

Faculty candidates will hold a research or clinical doctorate in occupational therapy, education, or related field. Candidates must have teaching experience with at least 5 years of clinical experience.  Previous experience in online course development and teaching in an online program is highly desirable. Applicants should have strong communication and organizational skills, particularly in an online format (e.g. Zoom, Outlook) with evidence of leadership and scholarship potential. This position is a 12-month appointment, with rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

How to apply:

Applicants should apply online at req #3172894.  A cover letter including teaching philosophy and related online education experience, CV and the names and contact information of at least 3 references should be submitted.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
