The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University is hiring up to five new faculty members over the 21-22 academic year for the following disciplines: computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, and information systems. Hiring will continue on a rolling basis until positions are filled through Summer 2022.
The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences was founded in 2017 with the mission to provide high-engagement, state-of-the-art education, and research across its Computer Science, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity disciplines, and with the vision of becoming a national leader in Cybersecurity. The School is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, as we are becoming a comprehensive research college, with national prominence, and a leader in cybersecurity education and research. The School offers Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, cyber operations and our newest undergraduate program is in cybersecurity engineering, the first of its kind in the state of Georgia. At the graduate level, we offer a Master of Science degree in Information Security Management as well as a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with a research thesis and course based options. Our newest graduate program, Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science has officially begun Fall 2021. Our enrollment is at an all-time high with over 700 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Augusta, Georgia is becoming a primary hub for cybersecurity in the United States, and the area is poised for explosive development. It is located at the center of a number of academic, governmental and corporate partnerships critical to the nation’s cyber security, including the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, the National Security Agency Georgia, the home of the United States Army Cyber Command, and the nearby Savannah River National Laboratory in South Carolina. The State of Georgia invested $100M in the Georgia Cyber Center at Augusta University, a 325,000-square-foot research and education facility which opened in 2018 and is home to the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences. Augusta University has embarked on an ambitious, multi-year effort to significantly expand its computing, cybersecurity, and data science activities. Applications are being invited for multiple other tenure-track and tenured positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels, with responsibilities to advance education and research in all mainstream areas of computing and cybersecurity, including information systems, data science and other closely related and emerging fields. .
