Job Details
A.T. Still University invites applications for an IT Support Specialist in Santa Maria, California. This position is considered a second-tier IT support position and a technology leader within Support Services. In addition to performing day-to-day technical work similar to a Support Services technician, staff in this position troubleshoot and resolve Level II issues. This position is the main technical contact for the Santa Maria, CA location. Staff in this position also have the responsibility of specializing in certain Level II activities such as account management, telephony, customer satisfaction, classroom A/V, and related academic support, desktop development, and maintenance. Persons in this position may be assigned to assist with some duties of the Support Services Manager as needed.
Job Duties:Perform specialized duties as mentioned above
Act as Level II response to university computing problems/needs
Provide main technology support presence for Santa Maria, CA location and coordinate with other IT support staff
Provide escalated support and advice to computer technicians
Maintain standards and keep abreast of shifts in technology or trends in individual specialty
Maintain documentation for individual specialty
Respond to the help desk and to escalated technology service calls
Act as point of contact for Santa Maria campus technology issues
Maintain standards in individual specialty
Advise Support Services Manager of trends or changes within each specialty
May be required to provide on-call and weekend support on a rotating basis
Assist with ATSU’s computer training program
Assist in setting levels of expectation regarding services provided
Other duties as assigned
- Some college required
- Experience in customer service relationships
- Experience in analyzing and troubleshooting technical issues and strong knowledge of assigned specialty
- Must be a self starter
