Hamilton College, a highly selective liberal arts college located in the scenic village of Clinton, NY, is seeking a results-oriented admissions professional who wants to be part of a highly effective team. As the Coordinator/Director of Diversity Recruitment, the successful candidate will provide leadership in the development and implementation of the College’s diversity recruitment initiatives, and will serve a critical role in helping to meet the strategic goals of the college. The person in this position will facilitate the recruitment and selection of the QuestBridge, Posse, and Opportunity Program Scholars, and will liaise with key campus partners to support those programs and students. Additionally, the Coordinator/Director of Diversity Recruitment will oversee the admission office’s outreach efforts to and partnerships with community based organizations, high school counselors, and early pipeline access programs that promote access, diversity and equity in college admission, and will engage with current Hamilton students who help support Hamilton’s diversity recruitment efforts. Finally, the Coordinator/Director of Diversity Recruitment will plan and lead diversity and inclusion programming for prospective students, utilizing the many campus resources and partners to support these efforts.
Other responsibilities will include reviewing applications, participating in a highly selective admission process, and coordinating yield activities designed to meet office objectives; interviewing prospective students; conducting in-person and virtual group information sessions and other presentations; establishing and maintaining relationships with secondary school counselor; in-person and virtual travel to secondary schools, college fairs, other external program, and conferences; regional management of assigned recruitment territories; and oversight of special programs within the Office of Admission that will be assigned based on the candidate’s strengths and experience as well as the office’s needs.Qualifications:
Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills; strong organizational and analytical abilities; an ability to work independently and also as a member of a collaborative team; experience and comfort with social media and CRM management (preferably Slate); a current driver’s license; and be strongly service-oriented and willing to travel 4-6 weeks per year, and on some nights and weekends.
