The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary is seeking a full time Clinical Research Coordinator I. This position will function in a clinical research setting and will be responsible for the coordination of assigned clinical research activities. The incumbent must demonstrate effective problem solving, writing and communication skills. The incumbent will be directly involved with research activities related to industry sponsored clinical trials/research within the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine and ensure compliance with federal, state and university policies.
Essential Functions:
40% Clinical Trial Project Management
Act as a coordinator for industry sponsored clinical trials. Adhere to an IRB approved protocol. Participate in the informed consent process of study subjects. Support the safety of clinical research patients/research participants. Coordinate protocol related research procedures, study visits, and follow-up care. Screen, recruit and enroll patients/research participants. Maintain study source documents. Report adverse events. Educate subjects and family on protocol, study intervention, study drug, etc. Collect, process and ship laboratory specimens. Schedule subject visits and procedures.
40% - Clinical trial regulatory management
Prepare all RAC paperwork needed for study startup approval. Prepare IRB paperwork needed for study startup. Obtain RAC or IRB approval related to amendments, protocol changes, etc. Assist with registration of the study in ClinicalTrial.gov database. Comply with all institutional, federal, state, sponsor and Divisional policies. Retain records/archive documents after study close out.
20% - This position will perform ad hoc assignments as assigned by the Supervisor.
Expected Salary:$ 38,900 - $ 46,000 annualMinimum Requirements:Associate’s degree or an allied health professional degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Preferred qualifications: Previous Pulmonary clinical trial experience.
