Job Details

Reporting to the Director of Operations & Maintenance, HSC Campus, the Facilities Specialist’s primary role is to serve as the initial point of contact for Facilities Management and dispatch calls for all buildings on the HSC Campus.  The successful candidate will be responsible for answering calls, logging the reported issue, contacting the responsible party to address the problem, and complete clerical tasks as assigned.  This position is often the first point of contact within the department and will have to triage the reported problem and dispatch appropriate personnel accordingly quickly, and calmly.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

At least 1 year of directly related experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Demonstrated proficiency in personal computer operations, i.e.: knowledge and skills in the Microsoft Office 365 software suite

*Must possess strong interpersonal, customer service, and organization skills

*The nature of the job further requires someone who is cooperative and courteous, who is able to maintain a pleasant, professional appearance, demeanor, and customer-oriented attitude at all times

*Ability to exercise control and the ability to handle stress while remaining focused and calm

*Excellent written and verbal skills

*Must be efficient and able to work well independently

*Ability to interact with people of all constituent groups

*Ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment

*General knowledge of Facilities Management operations


*Dispatching experience

*Familiarity with Facilities operations
