Access Analyst

Position Summary

An Access Management Analyst is responsible for provisioning and administering user and privileged access across various technology platforms. Responsibilities include effectively communicating with other team members; creating, modifying, and disabling/terminating user access; ensuring all requests for access, approvals and changes are recorded; adapting to rapidly changing business needs and operational directives to deliver superior results; collaborating with other team members within the Information Security environment; prioritizing and managing assignments, tasks and projects to completion with minimal supervision; timely resolution of inquiries/request for access/support; document collection and tracking; assisting in conducting recertification efforts; managing and supporting role-based controls to ensure appropriate access.

MSU Information Technology provides the primary leadership for strategic, financial, and policy initiatives affecting information technology (IT) across MSU. MSU IT offers technology resources that support MSU’s mission of providing education, conducting research, and advancing engagement.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years of college, technical, vocational or business school such as an Associates Degree; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed OR a Bachelors Degree; up to six months ore related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

General understanding of identity and access management concepts; effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; experienced in information security technologies and industry best practices; aptitude to lead efforts with minimal supervision; experience deploying role based Directory / Security Models within the framework of a highly complex organization model; provide production support of access management infrastructure applications.

Strong comprehension of Access Management best practices including solution design and architecture; effective communication; experience working with business users in defining and reviewing business process security; experience performing internal control reviews and risk assessments for customers running IAM tools; experience with Privileged Access Management products and technologies.
