Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 months of directly related experience.

Position Summary:

The Professional Intern Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will have the opportunity to design and implement annual strength and conditioning programs for assigned sport teams and athletes. The position will communicate independently with their assigned sports sport coaches and respective sport athletic training staff personnel. The position will directly report to and assist the Strength and Conditioning Coaching Staff for Olympic Sports in managing all aspects of a collegiate strength and conditioning facility and assist with the supervision of the 16,000 square foot weight room. The Professional Intern Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is expected to have knowledge of and adhere to NCAA and SEC rules and regulations.

Previous collegiate strength and conditioning experience.

Normal for a standard office environment. Bending, stooping, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Some nights and weekends as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The position will provide instruction in proper lifting techniques, conditioning modalities, pre-habilitation techniques, and recovery methods. Additionally, the position will monitor the progress of athletes through computer charting and analysis of daily, monthly, and annual training for assigned sports teams and for teams as assigned by staff. The position will aid in the maintenance of free weights, exercise machines, and cardio equipment.
