Job Details

The Modern Languages and Literatures discipline at St. Norbert College welcomes applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese beginning Fall 2022. This is a two-year position, which will be renewable for a third year. Candidates must have their Ph.D. in hand by August 2022, and be able to demonstrate a solid pedagogical foundation, inclusive teaching experience, excellent language skills, aptitude for program building, and an active scholarly agenda. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to teach Japanese language, culture and society at all levels of an undergraduate curriculum. Other opportunities include teaching Japanese popular culture or creating global seminar opportunities to take students abroad to Japan. This position further offers the possibility of teaching a course in one’s area of expertise in English within the College’s core curriculum or as a first-year seminar course.
