Job Title:Public Safety Officer - PART TIME - 992017Location:Fort Lauderdale-Davie, FloridaWork Type:Part Time without BenefitsJob Category:Non-ExemptHiring Range:$12.74Pay Basis:Hourly Subject to Grant Funding?:No Essential Job Functions:1. Detects and responds to safety hazards to ensure safety of employees and visitors.

2. Provides physical inspections and investigation on campus to ensure a safe environment.

3. Conduct security and safety audits to ensure that hazards and dangers are identified.

4. Conducts accident and injury investigations on campus to ensure proper record keeping of incidents.

5. Completes activity logs, incident reports to ensure proper record keeping of incidents.

6. Coordinates with local law enforcement concerning the investigation of incidents, crimes, and losses.

7. Conducts fire system inspections and emergency response drills.

8. Provides for locking and unlocking access control for campus buildings.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

3. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
4. Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.

Job Requirements:
Required Certifications/Licensures:Have or obtain current and valid Florida Driver's License with no more than 3 points.Required Education:High School Diploma or EquivalentMajor (if required): Required Experience:Previous customer service experience.Preferred Qualifications:1. Parking enforcement specialist certification.

2. Previous customer service, public safety, security, or police experience.

3. Previous experience with Microsoft Office products.
