Job Description:


By applying for this position, you will be joining the part-time pool for consideration as a prospective Engineering Tech Assistant.


The Engineering Tech Assistant is directly accountable to the Director of Advanced Technology and Applied Science for the following duties and responsibilities:


  • React well under pressure, handle and balance multiple demands at one time, work with frequent interruptions and perform duties and tasks at high levels of professionalism.
  • Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials as assigned by the Director. This includes preparing the room for the activity, obtaining the required material and equipment, operating the equipment, and returning all materials and equipment to storage.
  • Assist in the proper set-up of labs, computer equipment, and Amatrol trainers to maintain a safe and educational environment.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of classroom activities, such as preparing, typing, copying, and filing instructional materials.
  • Assist with the development of lesson plans and learning materials to meet curriculum requirements and individual student needs.
  • Assist the Director with organizing office duties in ways that optimize procedures.
  • Assist in accountability and inventory control for equipment and supplies for the Engineering department.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the Director to assist in daily activities.
  • Supervise school or student extracurricular activities such as Kids on Campus and Mini Camps.
  • Professionally conduct all work activities.
  • Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director.


Requirements:


  • High school diploma
  • Friendly presence and helpful attitude
  • Good interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office software
  • Work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills preferred.
  • Good problem solving skills preferred
  • Excellent at recordkeeping and highly attentive to detail preferred.


Additional Information:


Classification: Part-Time


Rate of Pay: $13.00 per hour


Hours: Up to 29 hours per week


Location: Niceville Campus


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
