Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program



The UC Irvine School of Education seeks applicants for temporary, part-time lecturer position in winter quarter 2022 to teach EDUC 348A Educational Equity and the Exceptional Learner, a course in the Master of Arts with Credential Program. Two 2-unit course sections are available in the multiple subject pathway:

Course Description:

Educational Equity and the Exceptional Learner (EDUC 348A) - 2 Units course

Emphasizes the use of differentiated instruction to meet special needs and the creation of a positive, inclusive learning environment that provides access to the core curriculum for special needs students. This course is the first of two courses designed to prepare general education teachers to support exceptional learners across subject areas and grade levels. The curriculum of ED 348A is focused on policies, legal responsibilities, school processes and resources, and an introduction to accommodations and modifications.

Service Period Dates:
Winter Quarter is 1/3/22 - 3/18/22, first day of class will be on 1/3/22

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree, a record of successful teaching experience, a valid credential in special education, experience in K-12 special education teaching, and demonstrated expertise in the content of the course to be taught. Relevant experience may be considered.

Desired Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in a field related to the course to be taught. Teaching at University level.

Salary:

Annual full-time salaries will begin at a base rate of $56,945.
