The University of Denver Division of Athletics and Recreation is currently a member of the NCAA (Division I) as well as The Summit League, National Collegiate Hockey Conference, BIG EAST Conference, Big 12 Conference and Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association. 

Position Summary:  

The University of Denver Division of Athletics and Recreation is now accepting applications for the position of social media specialist. This position will assist Denver’s full-time staff in planning, producing and tracking content for Denver’s athletics and recreation social media accounts.  

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

Essential Functions  

  • Assist in the creation of monthly social media calendars for Denver’s revenue-generating Division I athletic programs.
  • Gather and produce content for social media at practices and during Denver’s home games from Denver’s revenue-generating Division I athletic programs. 
  • Track social media performance across all athletics and recreation accounts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Experience with a variety of social media platforms, including but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. 
  • Organized and deadline driven. 
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Photoshop and Premiere.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social media industry standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree or pursuing one in a related field.
  • One year experience managing social media channels, preferably for a college athletics program.

Hourly Range

The hourly rate for this position is $16.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
