    Job Description

    This is a professional, Information Technologies (IT) position that is responsible for administering, monitoring, and modifying software or applications, related tools and interfaces. Software or applications are generally designed to meet specific business needs.

    • Coordinate information system activity by acting as a liaison of the business unit in communicating with other technical staff, vendors, management, and other appropriate parties.
    • Evaluate effectiveness of software applications or programs, systems, devices, procedures and methods to determine if business needs are being met. Use various methods for analysis of performance data, which may include automated system-monitoring, discussions with users, direct observation, review of logs, or other means. Document performance in accordance with unit protocol so that findings may be discussed with appropriate parties, including other technical staff and vendors.
    • Respond to security incidents to ensure system integrity. Isolate and repair or rebuild compromised solutions in a coordinated manner.
    • Support or provide training on applications or programs used by the business unit.
    • Troubleshoot and facilitate problem resolution involving software applications. May extend support to include operating systems, hardware, and ancillary devices.
    Salary

    $47,476 Annually

    Preferred Qualifications In appraising the relative qualifications of candidates for all levels, consideration will be given to the extent and type of experience with various information technology functions and to the extent and type of pertinent education and formal training. At the time a job opening is posted the hiring department will specify required knowledge and skills pertaining to specific technologies / software / equipment.

      Depending on competency level, technical skills will range from familiarity to a solid expertise with the specific business applications/programs. Increased competency with certain business applications/programs may be acquired through a certification or formal training program, offered by the vendor or other commercial training source.Familiarity with desktop software applications, operating systems, and hardware may be required, depending on the business unit where the position is located.Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.Strong customer service skills.Must be very detail-oriented.
