Summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are seeking highly motivated candidates to join the laboratory of Dr. Chia-Hsueh Lee in the Department of Structural Biology as a postdoctoral fellow to lead exciting research initiatives. The lab use cryo-EM and a range of biochemical/biophysical methods to study the function of membrane proteins (e.g. Wang et al., NSMB 2021; Lee and MacKinnon, Cell, 2019; Lee and MacKinnon, Science, 2018).

The lab has frequent access to the state-of-the-art cryoEM facility at St. Jude, which houses a 300kV Titan Krios, a 200kV Arctica, and a 120kV Talos L120C microscope. We are looking for an individual who have a passion for learning and navigating new research fields and is comfortable pursing highly impactful scientific advances.

Minimum Experience

Candidates with experiences in protein biochemistry, including protein expression and purification, or other related fields are encouraged. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude are essential. Good project management and good scientific writing are expected. Additional expertise in structural biology (single particle cryo-EM or X-ray crystallography) would be a plus, but not required. We welcome candidates from underrepresented groups to apply
