Description:GGC invites applicants for an Assistant Professor faculty position starting August 1, 2022 in Information Technology with expertise in the area of Software Development, Data Science or related fields. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the design and teaching of courses in the Information Technology major. Currently we offer majors with tracks in Enterprise Systems, Digital Media, Software Development, Systems and Security, and Data Science and Analytics. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. GGC values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring (advising and mentoring is expected of all faculty). The Information Technology discipline is interested in candidates who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for all students regardless of background. The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties, as assigned. In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive three or five year renewable appointments or one year traditional appointments may also be approved.
