GENERAL SUMMARY: This PSS Recruiter is primarily responsiblefor the recruitment and coordination of enrollment management activities for thelocal market (Okmulgee county) including, but not limited to, high schoolstudents, military personnel, and non-traditional adults. The primary role ofthe PSS Recruiter is to develop a strong working relationship with prospectivestudents and families and serve as their key contact throughout the enrollmentprocess. This Recruiter will assist in the transition of students to theappropriate academic unit once a program of study interest has been determined.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct presentations and present information to prospective students at high schools.
  • Represent University at College & Career Fairs; Represent University at special events.
  • Develop relationships with high school counselors, educators and others to develop a referral network to access students.
  • Present scholarships at high school graduations.
  • Acquire data from prospective students.
  • Identify students enrolled in Oklahoma Promise.
  • Identify and actively recruit minority applicants.
  • Identify and actively recruit military personnel.
  • Support International Affairs Office recruitment activities.
  • Initiate the Application for Admission.
  • Schedule personal tours for prospective students.
  • Assist with tours of Campus/Academic Units.
  • Inform and assist prospective students to appropriate offices for completion of enrollment process.
  • Establish personal follow up communication with prospective students-tailored through Slate with a minimum of 8 hours of calls per week.
  • Coordinate and serve as primary contact for College & Career Fairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from accredited college or university required; Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Minimum of two years related work experience in higher education or similar environment.
  • Two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of veteran affairs/services.
  • Experience giving formal presentations and workshops.
  • Must be able to effectively contribute in a dynamic, team environment.
  • A positive “can-do” attitude along with a professional appearance and demeanor should be modeled at all times.
  • Must be flexible, innovative and self-motivated.
  • Must have a willingness to continually self-initiate learning to remain current in expertise.
  • Should be able to quickly grasp and apply training in learning new skills and methods.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with members of student support units and contribute in a dynamic team environment that adheres to process-oriented, results driven strategies.
  • Should be able to quickly grasp and apply new skills and methods.
  • Must be customer service driven with ability to work and respond effectively to diverse audiences of internal and external clients.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills as well as a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be able to develop and deliver oral presentations and written materials for a variety of audiences and multiple venues.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to include verbal interaction and group presentation; able to interact effectively with students of all ages, Career Technology counselors and instructors, as well as employers in the industries served by the assigned Division/program.
  • Must be able to continually incorporate feedback, ideas, and requests into the recruitment process.
  • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • A flexible work schedule may be required occasionally to meet client demands and special programming needs.
  • Travel will be required.
  • Normal office physical environment; ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
