Job Summary:

The person in this position will develop, prepare, and review proposal budgets for submission to federal, state, and private agencies for external funding for faculty and college administrators in the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS). The individual will be assigned certain departments within the College of Arts & Sciences and will negotiate terms and conditions for grant and contract awards on behalf of CAS faculty, preparing subcontracts when necessary. Other responsibilities include: provide data management of awards to faculty members with external funding and any associated accounts (e.g. cost share), including account reconciliation; serve as liaison with federal, state, and private agencies; assist with the review of Facilities and Administrative cost collections and distribution split; assist other Grant Coordinators with reconciliation of grant files, posting, approving, and filing of related expenses, as needed and available. The individual will also be expected to assist the Associate Dean for Research or Assistant Director of Sponsored Programs with special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Related Accounting

1 year experience in a business administration or accounting position with major focus in grants administration. This position requires sufficient maturity, experience, and judgment to understand highly sensitive situations within the context of university policies and procedures and a complex variety of sponsored policies, procedures, regulations, and legal constraints. Basic body of knowledge obtained by a combination of specialized education, training, and experience is desired. Grants Administration experience is necessary for maximum pay.

Proposal budget development, grant and contract negotiation, demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Guidance, Federal Acquisitions Regulations, accounting, auditing, contract law. Ability to work in a collegial manner with a diverse group of faculty.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-4 years in a business administration or accounting position with major focus in grants administration. Grants and Contracts experience in a university setting. Certified Research Administrator.
