Plant Evolutionary Biologist

The Department of Plant Biology, Ecology, and Evolution at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater (http://plantbio.okstate.edu) seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin August 2022. The ideal candidate will address fundamental questions in Plant Evolutionary Biology, especially if using approaches that contain a genomic or genetic component.The position will complement departmental strengths in evolutionary biology, ecology, genetics, and cell and molecular biology.The successful candidate is expected to build an innovative, externally-funded research program, and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring.Effective and engaging teaching of introductory and advanced courses in the candidate’s specialty is expected.A Ph.D. in evolution, ecology, genetics, plant biology, or a related field is required; postdoctoral experience is expected. Our mission is to educate, train, and prepare tomorrow’s health leaders, practitioners and scientists to serve rural and under served Oklahoma. OSU-CHS also consists of the OSU Medicine clinics, where we provide vital patient care to Tulsa and surrounding communities.

About Us

Oklahoma State University-Center for Health Sciences was founded in 1972 and is home to the College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as graduate programs in forensics, biomedicine, healthcare and athletic training.   Our core business is education; and it takes more than 500 faculty and staff members to run our institution.  Our mission is to educate and train osteopathic physicians, research scientists and other healthcare professionals with an emphasis on serving rural and underserved Oklahomans.  We offer more than 10 different specialty clinics to care for patients in the area.
