Job Summary and Requirements: Oklahoma State University Department of Theatre & Dance seeks an Instructor to teach classes in Hip Hop Dance & Culture for the Spring 2022 semester. Instructor should be knowledgeable and able to lead students towards a layered understanding of hip hop dance, music, history/contemporaneity, and socio- cultural contexts. Applicants with skills to teach at least one other dance form such as jazz, ballet, social dance, contemporary, ballroom/vogue, capoeira, tap, or otherwise are encouraged to state this in their application materials. Instructor will be required to be on-campus two days per week.

General Information

Regular duties include:
• Prepare for and attend all class meetings.
• Develop movement phrases, assignments, evaluations, and feedback appropriate to
student-level.
• Instructor should be available for reasonable feedback requests by students.
• Instructor should be available for program meetings (generally 3-4 per semester), held
via zoom
• Adhere to departmental, college, and university policies
Required Qualifications:
• Experience teaching hip hop dance and culture to a range of skill levels • Two or more years of professional experience [broadly defined]
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five or more years of professional experience in the dance world [broadly defined] • Ability to teach at least one other dance form

Oklahoma State University-Center for Health Sciences was founded in 1972 and is home to the College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as graduate programs in forensics, biomedicine, healthcare and athletic training.   Our core business is education; and it takes more than 500 faculty and staff members to run our institution.  Our mission is to educate and train osteopathic physicians, research scientists and other healthcare professionals with an emphasis on serving rural and underserved Oklahomans.  We offer more than 10 different specialty clinics to care for patients in the area.
