Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE

Working under general supervision, the Analyst plans and coordinates multiple interfaces between three major student information systems in Enrollment Management: Slate for Undergraduate Admission, PowerFAIDS, Net Partner, and OnBase for Financial Aid and PeopleSoft SIS. This position also executes imports and exports between these systems from various external software services and interfaces with SIS. Serve as a key member of the Division of Enrollment Management’s system’s team. Maintain highly confidential information on applicants and students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Through a variety of analytical processes and tasks, across multiple systems and record formats, prepare detailed specifications and implement interfaces (exports and imports) to keep all Enrollment Management information systems: Slate, PowerFAIDS, Net Partner, and OnBase) and PeopleSoft SIS data synchronized. Run interfaces with ECSI (Educational Computer Systems, Inc), COD (Common Origination and Disbursement), and private lenders to support student loan processing. Create Item Types in multiple systems to assist with accuracy in disbursement and reconciliation process. (25%)Download data files from federal and private systems to upload into PowerFAIDS, the financial aid system. Processes must be done with extreme accuracy and timeliness. (10%)Design, create, run, and maintain reports, using a variety of query tools, to produce high quality business process and student data reports for all Enrollment Management units. Design, create and maintain ETL (Extract Transform Load) jobs and accompanying documentation. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve complex systems analysis problems; evaluate alternatives and make sound independent decisions within established guidelines. (10%)Analyze processing objectives, design, code, and test ad hoc queries using a variety of query tools, to provide data for various business needs and provide solutions to help solve processing issues. Evaluate, analyze and solve critical performance issues using SQL and database queries. (10%) Merge and reconcile student information in all Enrollment Management information systems. Analyze data to ensure accuracy, validity, and security. Requires detailed knowledge of admission and financial aid application business processes and the ability to research and analyze data from disparate systems. (15%)Create and keep current operational procedures related to Slate, PowerFAIDS, OnBase and SIS for Enrollment Management. (10%)

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Participate in cross-functional Enrollment Management teams to help solve complex business process or information systems issues involving interfaces with systems used across Enrollment Management. Diagnose software problems and recommend solutions. (5%)Analyze ITS Help Desk tickets for trends and to assist in determining root causes and need for end user training. (5%)Collaborate with Enrollment Operations, Undergraduate Admission, Financial Aid, and ITS staff to diagnose and resolve problems to support enrollment management goals. (5%)Keep technical skills current to meet continuing business and systems analysis assignments. (4%)Perform other duties as assigned. (1%)

CONTACTS

Department: Continuous contact with Enrollment Operations staff and other Enrollment Management staff (Financial Aid, Undergraduate Admission, and Enrollment Management administration) to provide information and resolve interface issues.

University: Occasional contact with ITS and SIS/Registrar’s Office staff, and other department staff and directors as needed to provide information and resolve interface issues.

External: Occasional contact with software vendors to provide information and resolve issues.

Students: Rare contact with students to provide information and resolve issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: High school education and 6 years of related experience OR Associate's degree and 2 years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree and no experience required.

REQUIRED SKILLS

    Ability to work under considerable stress as employee will function in all Enrollment Management areas (Enrollment Operations, Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid) during peak production times.Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines to ensure timely admission decisions and financial aid awards.Possess excellent customer service skills to interact positively with internal and external customers.Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills, and a strong technical aptitude.Knowledge of Slate, PowerFAIDS, Net Partner, OnBase, and PeopleSoft student information systems is desired.Experience working with and configuring Windows OC. Strong technical skills utilizing Windows operating systems in a client/server environment, PC configuration, SQL databases and networks preferred. Working proficiency in the complete Microsoft suite (e.g., Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).Ability to meet consistent attendance.Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors and customers face to face.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Enrollment Operations is a general office environment. Employee must perform repetitive motion using computer mouse and keyboard to type. Occasional travel and overtime required.
