Purpose of the Position:

Under the general direction of the cook staff, this position may perform production duties such as baking, roasting, frying, etc. It will also perform other duties such as stocking, dish room operation, trash removal and mopping.

Required:

Ability to work a flexible schedule

Ability to read and comprehend recipes, lists, and production needs

Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment

Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures

Ability to stand for prolonged periods

Ability to work in temperature extremes

Ability to work where wet processes are used

Ability to wear protective footwear

Ability to work in congested areas

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a continuous basis

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required: Experience in a food service industry.

Starting at $13.00

Conditions of Employment:

Per the Governor’s order, as a state employee, you would be required to disclose vaccine status. If you are fully vaccinated, you must provide documents confirming this status. The Governor requires that all employees who are unvaccinated, or not yet fully vaccinated to be tested weekly until they are fully vaccinated. This is a condition of employment.

This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;

Selected candidate must have the ability to work a flexible schedule;

Selected candidate must have the ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a continuous basis; Selected candidate will be required to attend a 3-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
