Purpose of the Position:

Under the direction of the Front of the House Manager, perform other duties to include but not limited to maintaining all aspects of dining room and beverage stations, replenishing condiments, cashiering, and cleaning.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:

Required:

Knowledge of basic math skills

Ability to read and write

Demonstrated ability to follow directions both verbal and written

Ability to effectively communicate verbally to both supervisors and guests

Knowledge of safety and sanitization procedures

Ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processed are used

Ability to wear protective footwear

Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all Dining Services employees and customers

Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required:

Previous experience in the food service industry

Previous experience handling money and making change

Experience with safety and sanitization procedures

Previous customer service experience. Previous cashier experience

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Experience Preferred: Previous experience working at a college/university.

Conditions of Employment:

Per the Governor’s order, as a state employee, you would be required to disclose vaccine status. If you are fully vaccinated, you must provide documents confirming this status. This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;

Selected candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule; Selected candidate will be required to attend a 3-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
