Description:

A postdoctoral position is available in the Lobanova Laboratory with the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida. The laboratory studies pathogenic changes in lipid metabolism and protein degradation in retinal diseases with the aim of identifying and validating new therapeutic strategies with high translational potential.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. degree in biological sciences/biophysics/ biochemistry/molecular biology with a track record of working on complex problems and high-quality publication(s). The applicant’s training should provide sufficient preparation to use mouse models of retinal degeneration, AAV-based gene delivery systems, cell culture, metabolomics and genomics approaches (RNA-seq, Chip-seq, single-cell RNA-seq) to identify pathways implicated in retinal pathogenesis and to develop and validate new therapeutic strategies. Ideal candidates are dynamic and self-motivated individuals that can take ownership of the projects and work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
