The Curatorial Assistant will assist with a variety of tasks in the Center for Public History’s University History Project, including researching historical topics, website and digital media development, digitizing and processing archival materials, transcribing and digitally synchronizing oral histories, assisting with marketing and promotion for the project, and other related tasks as needed. The assistant may be required to assist with and/or attend special programs, events, or research trips either on campus or in the field. The assistant is required to attend weekly staff meetings.
Required QualificationsMust be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at UWG.
Minimum of 2.5 overall GPA required.
History minor and other related disciplines will be considered.
Good writing and oral communication skills are required.
Research skills required.
Preferred QualificationsHistory major, a student with demonstrated public history experience, and/or a student with demonstrated digital media or website experience is preferred.
Office experience desired, including word processing and general organizational skills.
Public service skills and experience and website building and management skills are desired, but not required.
