Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Smith College invites applications for a two year postdoctoral position in the research group of Christophe Golé, to begin on July 1, 2022. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in some of the group's research areas, which include dynamical systems, plant pattern formation and microbial ecology, while also developing their own independent research agenda. The position has a teaching load of one course per semester, with an expectation of involvement in mentoring undergraduate student research. 

Dedicated teacher-scholars in all areas of applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Qualifications include a Ph.D. in Mathematics or in a related field, a strong commitment to teaching, and a high potential for research.  This position is part of a new cohort of four tenure-track positions and this postdoctoral position in applied mathematics, statistics, and data science.

We are the home of the Center for Women in Mathematics. In addition to courses in theoretical mathematics and applied mathematics, we co-host a Five College certificate in the biomathematical sciences, and with our award-winning post-baccalaureate program, we send a cohort of students to graduate school each year.
