About the University

A&M-Central Texas is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and COBA is currently ACSBP accredited. COBA is presently pursuing AACSB accreditation.

A&M-Central Texas is located on the southern edge of Killeen, TX, a city of approximately 120,000 (not including the 50,000+ on Fort Hood, the largest Army installation in the world). Killeen is about an hour North of Austin and just a few miles west of the I-35 corridor, one of the fastest transmetropolitan regions in North America. The area is known for a low cost of living, friendly people, diversity of the area, and ease of travel (mile a minute on average). The student body is one of the most diverse in the state and COBA students generally classify as nontraditional, with an average age of 33 years, although recently trending downward. A significant portion of the student population is military affiliated (active duty, spouse, veteran and other dependents). Because of the strong ties to serving military personnel around the world, many courses are offered online in addition to the traditional day and evening face-to-face courses. Faculty members would first and foremost be expected to provide excellent instruction and support other aspects of the college and university mission as appropriate. Teaching at a young, growing institution is a unique opportunity to be able to put your fingerprint on an institution that is changing lives daily and for many years to come.

Texas A&M University Central Texas does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs and activities, including admission and employment, in accordance with Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972.

All positions are security-sensitive. Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent upon the institution’s verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution’s procedures, including the completion of the criminal history check.
