Nature of WorkThe Colorado School of Public Health (ColoradoSPH) has an opening for a full-time position at the rank of Professional Research Assistant (PRA). The ColoradoSPH strives to promote diversity and equity and to be a model of inclusive excellence. We are committed to enhancing diversity among our faculty and strongly encourages individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.

The PRA will assist with quantitative studies in health economics related to health, healthcare and financial security among older Americans. Responsibilities include working with large and complex datasets using Stata and other statistical software, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with data analysis and manuscript development. The position is ideal for recent graduates planning to pursue a PhD in economics, public policy, health policy or related fields and provides support for taking additional classes.

This position will be based in the Department of Health Systems, Management & Policy, a unit dedicated to using data to understand the implications of decisions in public health and healthcare. We solve the problems of healthcare systems by designing and testing solutions that push policies forward. Faculty are currently involved in a broad range of research areas including health outcomes, health economics, Medicaid/Medicare, drug safety and risk management, and vaccine delivery.

Collaboratively formed in 2008 by CU Denver, CSU and UNC, the Colorado School of Public Health provides training, innovative research and community service to actively address public health issues including chronic disease, access to healthcare, environmental threats, emerging infectious diseases, and costly injuries.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is the only comprehensive academic health sciences center in Colorado, the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region and one of the newest education, research and patient care facilities in the world. Currently home to 25,000 employees, more than 5,000 degree-seeking students and two nationally recognized hospitals that handle 1.7 million patient visits each year, CU Anschutz trains the health sciences workforce of the future, carries out a broad range of research, and cares for the state’s children, adults, and veterans. CU Anschutz features schools of medicine, pharmacy, dental medicine and public health, a college of nursing and a graduate school.
