The Department of Orthopedics has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Business Services Senior Professional position.

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families.  Functions include institutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review, strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking and transportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate and property management, retail services or job responsibilities that combine fiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.

Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.  Work is performed fully independently.

Nature of Work:

This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position is responsible for high-level operational support to the Trauma Section, including the Section Chief, faculty and staff within Orthopedics. The Trauma Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating section activities and supporting their faculty across all practice sites. This position will communicate, document and support all Department efforts and in doing so will maintain relationships with various personnel throughout the School of Medicine and Affiliate Hospitals. This role must exercise critical judgement and considerable initiative in administrative management. This position provides cross coverage for other administrative positions as needed.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Works with Section Administrator to implement identified needs for the new program such as faculty recruitment, scheduling, additional certifications, and logistics.
  • Manages projects and process improvement activities related to the programs; reports on progress, and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Assists with academic and clinical scheduling for faculty support including the Qgenda system.
  • Coordinates meeting space needs on and off campus; coordinates events, including selecting and scheduling the venue.
  • Manages faculty calendars and meeting coordination by using email/MS Outlook and Doodle.
  • Process procurement requests, travel arrangements (including international), and reimbursements for providers.
  • Manages provider licensing, certifications, memberships, and hospital credentialing.
  • Recruitment and onboarding support for new providers.
  • Manages scheduling and billing for medical legal requests.
  • Acts as department subject matter expert in relation to credentialing, medical legal requests, procurement, Qgenda and provider onboarding.
  • Represents department externally to other groups as necessary.
  • Oversee the application, submission, and maintenance of CU Medicine sites of practice for the department.
  • Provide high level coordination and analysis on various section strategic projects.
  • Provide process improvement project management for administrative processes within the department.
  • Provide project management within the Trauma Section.
  • Provide operational support to providers within the Trauma.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $48,137 to $68,000.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least two (2) years of professional level experience working in an administrative or executive assistant support role for a senior level position (i.e. Director, Chair, etc.) (3 years preferred).
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects, adhering to project timelines, and reporting on progress.
  • Experience coordinating travel and related purchasing and expense reimbursements in the Concur system.
  • Experience providing high level administrative/executive and technical assistance to faculty and staff within a higher education and/or medical education environment.
  • Experience in managing multiple schedules.
  • Master’s degree in related field
