Job Description

The Department of Counseling, Health & Kinesiology is currently seeking applicants for a non-tenure track adjunct faculty position to begin in Spring 2022. The Counseling Program offers graduate degrees in school counseling; clinical mental health; and marriage, couple, and family counseling. Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in the Counseling Program. Quality performance will be expected in teaching. Additionally, the adjunct faculty will prepare and teach the assigned class following a syllabus guideline. The adjunct faculty will maintain appropriate records, assign earned grades, report needed data to the department, and complete all necessary development assessment information. Work hours depend on course schedule and teaching assignments may include day, night, and/or weekend courses.

Required Education and Experience:

• Ph.D. in Counseling, Counselor Education and Supervision, or a related educational field.

• 18 graduate hours in each field in which candidate will teach.

• Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.

• Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations.

• University teaching and supervisory experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Experience mentoring students in areas of expertise.

• Experience with educational technology and distance learning.
