Winona State University invites you to join our Community of Learners as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Ethnic Studies. This position is a probationary/tenure-track appointment with an expected start date of August 15, 2022.  As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching introductory and midlevel courses in comparative race and ethnic studies in addition to upper-level ethnic studies seminars. Additional duties include (1) engaging in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of Ethnic Studies; (2) providing evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities and other professional contributions to the field of Ethnic Studies including the WSU Ethnic Studies program; (3) contributing to student growth and development including student advising with a particular emphasis on supporting marginalized student populations; and (4) providing service to the university and community, which may include the program, department, college, university and greater intellectual or other communities.  Minimum qualifications for this position are (1) an earned PhD in Ethnic Studies or a closely related field by date of appointment; and (2) experience teaching college-level courses in Ethnic Studies and/or on U.S. experiences of race.  Salary and rank are dependent upon qualifications and experience.  For a complete job description and to apply, please go to https://winona.peopleadmin.com.  Along with a cv/resume and other required documentation, applicants should submit a statement explaining their personal or professional experiences in working with diverse populations (such as persons from differing race / ethnic background, sexual orientation, age, gender, or mental and physical ability) as well as how the applicant would contribute toward a diverse and inclusive academic and employment culture and community at Winona State University.  Statements should be 1 page or less.
