Description of Position

The Regional Economic Development Center (REDC) is seeking a an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team to support the Yavapai County communities in their efforts to generate economic impact. Serving under the Director of the REDC, this position will perform a variety of tasks to enhance the relationship between the REDC and the community, economic development partners, and municipalities. This Coordinator position requires innovative, creative, and non-traditional capacities, along with communication and planning strategies to coordinate the REDC efforts with clients and business prospects across social and digital channels. To be successful, the candidate will need to interact with a variety of both internal (faculty/staff) and external constituents and may represent the college and REDC at civic events and networking opportunities.
The Coordinator will:
  • Perform complex, technical, and/or specialized administrative duties in support of the REDC
  • Require the exercise of independent judgment, application of technical, extensive software skills, and detailed knowledge of the activities and procedures specific to the REDC, SBDC, and Yavapai College
  • Operate as the main support to the Executive Director and Director
  • Communicate and promote the activities of the REDC through the development and implementation of communication strategies (i.e., newsletter, social media, flyers/brochures, etc.).
  • Utilize and maintain an extensive contact relationship management service that focuses on marketing automation and analytics.
  • Maintain confidential and sensitive written and oral information.
  • Attend to a variety of administrative details such as preparing correspondence, reports, forms, work orders, and specialized documents related to operations.
  • Event management of business and economic networking events (i.e., mixers, roundtables, conferences, etc.).
  • Prepare and perform Purchasing Liaison responsibilities for the REDC, to include initiate purchase orders and payments. Compiles data, recommends cost-cutting measures, monitors, and tracks expenditures, ensuring that the department remains within approved budget allocations. Submits receipts and reconciles expenditures. Arranges and tracks all travel for team members.


Minimum Expectations & Requirements

  • Ability to perform projects requiring research and report preparation related to the activities of the organizational unit to which assigned
  • Ability to prepare correspondence, reports, forms, work orders, and specialized documents related to the organizational unit to which assigned from drafts, notes, brief instructions, corrected copy
  • Ability to provide customer service duties with the use of judgment and the interpretation of policies, rules, procedures and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and be discreet in communicating information
  • Ability to travel
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards the performance of job duties
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Preferred Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Two years of increasingly responsible office experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education/experience in office records and communications or a related field
  • Proficient in MS Office products, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficient in use of email marketing software, such as Constant Contact
  • Incumbents may be required to learn applications related to the area of assignment
  • Ability to work with confidential/ sensitive information
  • Attention to detail on departmental paperwork (proof reading, problem solving)
  • Knowledge of departmental procedures
  • Experience with Visio, Microsoft Project, and Adobe
