Job SummaryThe Georgia Tech Institute for Data Engineering and Science invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track research faculty position to start December 1, 2021 or as soon as possible after that. Applicant will design, develop, deploy and document software and data infrastructure for using AI to support large-scale personalized online learning.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities will be to design, develop, deploy and document software and data infrastructure for using AI to support large-scale personalized online learning. In particular, the candidate will work with Georgia Tech faculty and students as part of the new NSF National AI Research Institute for Adult Learning and Online Education to help develop this infrastructure and these technologies. The Research Scientist will work primarily in Georgia Tech's Design & Intelligence Laboratory and report to Professor Ashok Goel, but also work with faculty and researchers at partner institutions to deploy and evaluate the above technologies.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in computer science or related area.
Preferred QualificationsA preferred candidate needs experience in AI and ML.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities The position requires skills in software development, project management, data collection and analysis, documentation, as well as working with people. Job requires experience with Python, SQL, Linux, and JavaScript. A demonstrated ability to write papers would help. This job can potentially be done remotely but requires intensive teamwork.
