Affiliated (Part-Time) Faculty Popular Fiction Writing and Publishing
Join our community and experience Emerson College!

The Department of Writing, Literature and Publishing at Emerson College is seeking part time faculty to apply to a pool of faculty available to teach in the online MFA program in Popular Fiction Writing and Publishing. Part-time faculty postings are for potential teaching positions. The applicant pool will be reviewed by the department chair, the associate chair, and the graduate program director when searching for candidates to fill the position.

We are seeking an applicant pool of creative writers who publish genre (science fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, horror, Afrofuturism and other Futurisms etc) fiction with experience teaching online and asynchronously. Applicants should have a MFA in creative writing or the equivalent terminal degree or equivalent publication history. Applicants should have experience teaching at the college level or to adults. Writers of romance fiction are particularly encouraged to apply. Those with publications that also highlight historically underrepresented populations are particularly encouraged to apply.

We are seeking literature scholars who research and have experience teaching popular genre fiction at the college level. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in literature or an equivalent doctoral degree with expertise in literary studies. Those with related interests in multi-ethnic American literature, global postcolonial literatures, and/or global Indigenous literatures are especially encouraged to apply.

We are seeking publishing professionals who have worked in the industry and have experience working with authors publishing popular genre literatures. Applicants should have a terminal degree or equivalent professional experiences. Those with teaching experience, ideally at the college level, are particularly encouraged to apply. Those with experience publishing and working with authors focused on narratives from historically underrepresented populations are particularly encouraged to apply.
