General Description


This is a Full-Time tenure track nursing faculty position with teaching responsibilities in the classroom, simulation lab and/or clinical settings. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, curriculum development and other academic duties as assigned in accordance with the mission and purpose of the college. Expertise in Mental Health preferred with the ability to teach in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide classroom lectures, site-specific undergraduate clinical instruction and/or advanced practice student supervision at the practicum sites.
  • Maintain weekly office hours per college requirement.
  • Provide course coordination and supervision of adjunct faculty in accordance with course requirements.
  • Participate in School of Nursing and College academic committees.
  • Participate in program planning, curriculum construction/revision for the School of Nursing. 
  • Participate in College-wide activities regarding the introduction of students to the College (i.e.,: Open Houses, New Student Day, etc.), and other College events.

  • Master's degree in nursing required; a doctorate degree in nursing or related field is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
  • At least five years clinical experience required.
  • Current New York RN license or ability to obtain New York License.

It's less than a mile from the intersection of the New York State Thruway and Interstate 84, and just a few blocks from entrance to the Newburgh side of the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge. The Mount is also easily accessible by plane, with Stewart Airport just minutes from campus. The Mid-Hudson Valley offers a scope of unparalleled natural beauty in a landscape of mountains, river and forest. Hiking, biking, walking, swimming, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and our park activities offer so many ways to explore the natural environment.

    Enrollment/Student Body Profile. Our student body is made up of 2,700+ students representing over 16 states and several countries. 1,800 are traditional undergraduate students.

    Academic Programs. The Mount offers 50 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Our collaboration programs offer you a chance to earn a bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree with schools like Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College. The college also offers master's degrees in education, business, and nursing.
