Organizational Unit Overview:

It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to the children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region.

Job Duties :

The Department of Pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC is seeking an academic general pediatrician/hospitalist to join the faculty of the Division of General Pediatrics as a Pediatric Hospitalist.

The academic general pediatrician/hospitalist is responsible for providing inpatient services to infants, children, and adolescents on the Pediatric Ward at the Maynard Children’s Hospital at Vidant Medical Center. The academic general pediatrician/hospitalist is also expected to provide excellent medical education (teaching) to medical students, residents, and other learners.

The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Fixed term and tenure track positions at the title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Must have a terminal (MD or DO) degree from an appropriately accredited institution.

Must be board certified/eligible in General Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina.
