    As a Lynn employee, you will help us build a better world with our students. Lynn is currently accepting applications for the position of Learning Management System Administrator. The LMS administrator manages the daily operations of assigned LMS instances (Canvas) as well as contributes to the development of solutions. The LMS administrator provides technical leadership in the support of Canvas. This position is responsible for the support, design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions. The Learning Management System Administrator is the primary system administrator for Canvas's LMS and oversees the installation of all system updates and upgrades, as well as tools and software integrated with the LMS.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Works on assignments dealing with the routine and daily operation, use, maintenance, and configuration of the Canvas LMS.
    • Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.
    • Acquires and maintains knowledge of current and emerging technologies as it applies to LMS software and systems.
    • Writes and maintains technical procedures and policies to ensure the security and integrity of systems/networks in addition to policy documentation.
    • Provide reports on LMS usage, user usage, and performance usage using Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Develops, builds and maintains all elements related to LMS functionality, including but not limited to content integrations and creation, curriculum programs, LMS structure, course publishing, user creation, and reporting.
    • Creates and updates resources to train and support learners on how to use the technology for online and professional development.
    • Write REST APIs scripts using Ruby on Rails or Python to streamline LMS processes and data gathering.
    • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Instructional Designers (IDs) as needed to share knowledge and maintain a well-organized, timely and high-quality work within the LMS
    • Manages relationship with various third-party vendors and facilitates the successful integration of a variety of application with the Canvas LMS.

    User Management:

    • Creates user logins as needed and assigns user permissions.
    • Work with software services department on automation of user and course creation processes

    Course Management:

    • Publishes and archives courses using API calls.
    • Populates course information and assigns learners.

    Troubleshooting:

    • Provides troubleshooting assistance for users regarding logging in to the LMS and accessing courses.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves issues relating to system functionality and software systems.
    • Serves as point of escalation for support issues, which may include interaction with LMS vendor and other vendor support services.
    • Reviews and monitors system performance.
    • Works with the instructional technologist and instructional designers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to accessing the LMS, course content, and integrated applications.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an LMS administrator or in similar position
    • Prior experience with LMS platforms and eLearning/Instructional design principles
    • Demonstrated expertise and proficiency with LMS/CMS systems, and must have an interest in emerging technologies
    • Demonstrated technical experience developing, deploying and supporting courses in current learning management systems (Canvas preferred)
    • Demonstrated entry level experience using HTML, Python, Ruby on Rails and/or JavaScript programming languages.
    • Intermediate skills in SQL.
    • Expertise in creating SCORM packages for publishing to LMS
    • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools like S3 and Athena
    • Strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills and ability to build on experience to use technology to bring opportunities to use value-added tools to team members' attention
    • Flexibility to shift focus in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities
    • Proficiency in Excel is a must
    • Technical skills including troubleshooting, and understanding of directory, file structures, and systems
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
    • Ability to collaborate with others at all levels of the organization as well as vendors
    • Ability to gain new technical skills quickly
    • Customer service skills, responsive attitude
    • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in layman's terms

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in HTML and CSS.
    • Demonstrated experience with learning analytics and evaluation.
    • Demonstrated experience with productivity and project management tools.
    • Master's degree is preferred
    • The candidate must be able to adhere to common project management techniques such as scope, schedule, budget, reporting, and etc.
