Job Summary
Columbus State University is seeking a Multimedia Specialist for its Office of Strategic Communication + Marketing. The selected candidate will employ both videography and photography experience to enhance the university's storytelling, news reporting, and digital marketing initiatives as part of an integrated team.

Responsibilities
The multimedia specialist will contribute to the university's strategic communication and marketing goals independently or as part of a creative project team by:
  • operating video and photography equipment in indoor and outdoor locations, as well as studio, event and live-streaming environments, to create professional pre-recorded programming, still and candid photography, headshots, etc.
  • employing creativity and knowledge of lighting, composition, camera/lens placement, and audio to create compelling multimedia assets.
  • conceptualizing, storyboarding, scripting and casting video shoots and still photography based on client parameters.
  • incorporating the university's brand elements into multimedia projects for distribution through CSU's website, social media, events, and a wide range of other digital communication.
  • completing required post-production processing in collaboration with the client to ensure all project goals are achieved.
  • contributing to a content strategy around photo and video storage systems, such as YouTube and SEO opportunities.
  • editing, correcting and cataloging photography and video assets in a variety of digital formats for easy retrieval by the entire team and repurposing for future projects.
  • packing and transporting associated equipment to all necessary locations on foot or by vehicle.
  • providing other video services that support the university's brand, strategic goals, and overall communication needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in film production, broadcasting, communication, journalism or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university; and professional and/or extensive internship-level experience.
  • Knowledge of video and photographic techniques; conventional video and photographic equipment and accessories; the uses and effects of various lighting and audio methods; lighting, composition, and camera/lens combination; editing software (including, but not limited to Premier Pro, Final Cut, Photoshop, and After Effects, among others); video collaboration, distribution, storage and archival software (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr).
  • Candidates must be able to work in a highly creative, collaborative and detail-oriented environment under tight deadlines, in high-pressure situations, and with colleagues internal and external to the team, while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physically capable of carrying necessary equipment weighing up to 25 pounds to photography and video locations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least three years of related professional experience.

Proposed Salary
The annualized salary range for this position is $27,868 - $31,352 and includes full benefits.
