Job Description:

The aligned Office of Institutional Effectiveness of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College is responsible for college-wide strategic planning and institutional research to support data-informed decision making. This includes supporting three campuses with diverse student populations with institutional and program accreditation, technical assistance, and training to facilitate continuous improvement. The Director of Institutional Effectiveness reports to the Dean of Research and Evaluation and works closely with other personnel and committees to provide data and conduct research related to accountability initiatives, strategic planning, internal reports and surveys, institutional and programmatic accreditation and other emergent research needs for both colleges. This position provides direct oversight for activities pertaining to supervising the projects and staff of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. This is a temporary, full-time appointment for up to two years. The aligned colleges have three campus locations: Anoka, Cambridge, and Coon Rapids. This position’s home campus will be on the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids campus but limited traveling between the campuses may be required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate (written, verbal, listening and human relations) and collaborate effectively with constituents in a diverse multicultural and multiracial community including the ability to help various communities understand data and its implications.
  • Leadership and administrative skills such as department planning, budget management, and project management.
  • Ability to supervise and to encourage the involvement of others, not limited to direct reports.
  • Ability to effectively query and analyze data from large and complex database using appropriate statistics as necessary.
  • Ability to conceptualize, and plan research projects using accepted research design.
  • Ability to understand issues around data privacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in research, evaluation and reporting.
  • Experience creating interactive dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Ability to work with teams and to develop competent working relationships with all constituents.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet timelines.
  • Ability to be flexible, innovative, and responsive to a complex and changing organization by recognizing problems and determining solutions.
  • Master’s degree.

Other Requirements:

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s Vehicle use criteria and consent to Motor Vehicle Records check.
