Position Description:

The mission of UCLA Neuroscience, one of six major research themes within UCLA Health Sciences, is to develop and foster visible concentrations of excellence in basic and interdisciplinary neuroscience at UCLA. Driving these efforts within UCLA Health System's enterprise is the ability to raise funds and keep vital research, programs and initiatives in motion.

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Health Sciences Development, and, as part of a dynamic team of professionals devoted to raising funds to advance the university's purpose, the Associate Director of Development, Neurosurgery will implement and manage a robust fundraising program to attract private support for the Department of Neurosurgery. The Associate Director will establish goals and objectives for these program areas and coordinate strategies for fundraising, stewardship, cultivation and communications. This individual will be responsible for developing annual operating plans and evaluating progress to goals. In addition, the Associate Director will personally cultivate, solicit and steward donors across a broad range of giving levels and manage a portfolio of prospects at primarily at the leadership annual giving level of $10,000 - $49,999 with a focus on building diversity in their donor portfolio where possible. This individual will manage event sponsorships associated with the Visionary Ball and other comparable opportunities as well board cultivations with a target of raising total annual dollars in the $225K - $400K range. This individual will also manage the Neurosurgery Board of Advisors.
