About the Position
NUPI is seeking instructors for the EMS program who have a passion and commitment to helping ensure student success in the field. Instructors are responsible for providing theory and skills instruction keeping in compliance with approved curricula and industry requirement, ensuring students have learning experiences that reflect current practices required in for a career in the EMS field.
Responsibilities:
- Providing instruction to students in accordance with program curricula , course syllabi/requirements and objectives
- Instructing students on the application of equipment, including conducting skills labs
- Evaluating students progress in attaining program knowledge and skills.
- Participating in curriculum and program reviews
- Preparing and maintaining course, grades and all required documentation and administrative reports
- Ensuring compliance with safety and security measures during periods of instruction
- Maintaining knowledge of industry requirements, as well as University policies, procedures and practices
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is highly desired
- Current certification in the State of California as an EMT, Cardiac Technician, Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant or Physician Experience
- Minimum three years previous experience teaching in an EMS/EMT program is desired; familiarity with lab instruction utilizing patient-based simulations and scenarios
- Ability to create an interactive and supportive learning environment
- Current CPR certification
- Solid knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles and instructional methods
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively and professionally with other faculty, students and staff
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Must be organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
