We are an innovative institution committed to student success and well known for our flexibility to meet student and community needs.Develop and expand CSM’s innovation and technology programming effortsEstablish and manage MEIF funded grant activities Facilitate the needs of companies engaged in entrepreneurial activities in one or more of the following research areas: Physical, life and neuro sciences, engineering, mathematical and computational services, regulatory science, autonomous systems, aeronautical and space science, environmental, behavioral, health and language science, agriculture and cybersecurity. Identify regional technology transfer capabilities, connecting entrepreneurs and students to these resources and opportunities.Identify the need for, establish relationships with, and manage the work of subject matter experts, academic and otherwise, as necessary to facilitate rapid, agile, innovative development of solutions to technical problems associated with federal lab IP-based product development.Develop and host innovation workshops, lectures, broadcasts and/or eventsEstablish relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders including: academic institutions regional federal lab researchers and technologists, their management, and funding organizations, along with private sector companies, investors and entrepreneurs to secure ongoing support, financial and otherwise.Develop, organize, and implement initiatives relating to entrepreneurship, innovation and technology transferCollaborate with CSM faculty, staff and external partners to plan and implement innovation initiatives.
CSM believes that fostering local innovation and building partnerships with our region's federal laboratory workforce is vitally important to the economic health and prosperity of the region and its workforce. CSM’s Endowed Faculty of Innovation will catalyze the unique opportunity to collaborate with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head (NSWC/IH) to develop new skills that will enhance the region's workforce. Specific goals include the expansion of CSM and Indian Head’s current technology transfer collaborations; Research and Identify Regional Technology Transfer Capabilities; Instill Entrepreneurial Skills in our Region; Empower Local Entrepreneurial Ecosystem with Research; Prototyping hard skills; Supporting the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem developing efforts.
