CU Cancer Center includes six institutional partners made up of approximately 300 researchers and physicians at three state universities and three healthcare delivery institutions.

The Oncology Clinical Trial Post Award Specialist in Finance provides full service clinical trial post award management. This position requires discretion, analytical skill & personal responsibility to be successful. We’ll teach you how to identify, research, collaborate and creativity solve a wide variety of post award adjustments in a changing environment while remaining within system, institutional and state policies.  This position works with sponsors, clinic staff and faculty members. This position must have the ability to understand a Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA) and oncology clinical trial protocols. The Clinical Research Post Award Specialist is responsible for all financial obligations for assigned clinical trial activity. Transferring revenue through journal entry as indicated by budgets/contracts. Monitoring, identifying, researching and reconciling protocol post processing based on patient activity. Identifying, reconciling and deactivating Speedtypes upon IRB closure.  This position performs oncology clinical trial start up and amendment contract and award term reviews prior to submission for trial opening.

In addition to working closely with university personnel, this position communicates regularly with pharmaceutical company representatives. This position has financial oversight and is responsible for the advancement of oncology clinical trial contracts and amendments sponsored by industry, co-operative groups, federal grants/contracts and investigator initiated clinical trials.

    Salary and Benefits:

    The salary range for this position has been established at $50,000 to $52,250 and is commensurate with skills and experience.    

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    This position is not  eligible for overtime compensation.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications for Oncology Clinical Trial Post Award Specialist I (Entry)

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, business administration, healthcare or other related field.
    • One (1) year of professional experience working in any budget, finance or clinical related position.
    Substitutions: Related experience in budget, finance, business administration or clinical field may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with oncology clinical trials
    • One (1) or more years of experience working in a clinical or clinical research setting
    • Six (6) months or more experience reading and understanding clinical research protocols, specifically oncology is preferred.
    • One (1) year in financial role
    Minimum Qualifications for Oncology Clinical Trial Post Award Specialist II (Intermediate)

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, business administration, healthcare or other related field.
    • Two (2) years of professional experience working in oncology clinical research post-award.
    Substitutions: Related experience in budget, finance, business administration or a clinical field may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

    Additional Duties for Oncology Clinical Trial Post Award Specialist II:

    • Backup coverage for other Post Award Specialists
    • Attends policy and procedure meetings as assigned
    • Assist the Post-Award Manager with training
    • Updating documents and checklist as needed
    • Implementing process improvements as directed
    • Participates in departmental workgroups as needed
    Minimum Qualifications for Oncology Clinical Trial Post Award Specialist III (Senior)

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, business administration, healthcare or other related field.
    • Four (4) years of clinical research or project Pre/Post award experience
    Substitutions: Related experience in budget, finance, business administration or clinical field may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
