General SummaryThe School of Social Work at Illinois State University invites applications for the position of Director, for a 12-month, 5-year (renewable) term, preferably to begin July 1, 2022. As the School’s chief administrative officer, the director reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. The director will be expected to provide vision and leadership, secure resources to accomplish the School’s goals, and foster a collegial atmosphere conducive to teaching, research, and service. The director also teaches one course per year.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a Ph.D. in Social Work or a closely related discipline and must hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required. Two years of post-MSW practice experience, and clinical licensure or license-eligibility are preferred. In addition, the successful candidate should possess demonstrable leadership, management, and communication skills, as well as have significant research and teaching accomplishments. Knowledge of and experience with CSWE accreditation guidelines is desirable. State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position. This position is security sensitive and subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy. Employment is contingent upon the candidate’s satisfactory clearance of a criminal background investigation.
