The Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences invites applications for a Assistant Professor - Clinical Teaching Track - PMHNP. This is a full-time, 12-month position with expectations for teaching, scholarship, practice, and service as described by the College and University. This position requires national, advanced practice certification in psychiatric/mental health. The psychiatric/mental health nursing practitioner program at UCCS was established in 2016.Who We Are:The Helen and Arthur E Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a distinguished and innovative college providing excellence in education, scholarship, and practice in the health professions. The college currently serves ~1,400 students (80% undergraduate and 20% graduate) through its programs in the Department of Nursing, the Department of Health Sciences, and the Department of Human Physiology and Nutrition.The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is one of four campuses in the University of Colorado system and is home to over 10,500 undergraduate and 1,900 graduate students. Colorado Springs (pop. 400K+) is situated at the base of Pikes Peak, offers many recreational and cultural activities and was recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top Best Places to Live in the U.S.Job Duties:Teach graduate students in an online education format.Engage in an active program of research/scholarship.Maintain clinical advanced practice nursing and academic expertise.Select learning experiences and guide students in achieving desired outcomes.Participate in the evaluation process of the program, students and faculty.Assume faculty role in the guidance, advising and recruitment of students.Participate in curriculum development.Actively engage at PMHNP sites.Engage in activities that advance the mission and goals of the Department, College and University.Job Competencies:The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of February 7, 2022. The potential dates for second interviews for finalists will be the week of February 21, 2022. The potential employee start date is August 2022. Minimum Requirements:Doctorate degree in nursing or related field (DNP or PhD) or conferred by date of hireOne graduate degree must be in nursing and from an accredited institution (MSN, DNP or PhD in Nursing)Current national, advanced practice certification in psychiatric/mental health (PMHNP) or obtain by the date of hireCurrent, unrestricted RN and APRN licensure with prescriptive authority in the State of Colorado or eligible to obtain prior to start of employmentPreferred Requirements:Previous teaching experience in undergraduate or graduate nursing programEstablished record of scholarshipEstablished record of servicePrevious experience with conducting online teachingTwo years experience in psychiatric/mental health fieldPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
