POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Associate Director of Visits & Events position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.The University and RegionUTK is the state’s flagship, land-grant university. The DivisionThe Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 170 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, University Registrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics. The Office of Enrollment Management is committed to our Vision, Mission and Values. We are passionate about fulfilling our land-grant mission of accessible education and making an impact that will transform lives through the student experience.The Position Provide strategic leadership to a team staff by motivating top performance, encouraging creativity, reinforcing organizational and institutional vision as visitor’s center team contributes to broad department and university goals. Develop, execute and measure a comprehensive recruitment strategy for our campus visit programs and all recruitment events. Work in conjunction with the Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director of Admissions and Event Coordinators in determining the goals, objectives, and activities of all recruiting events. Provide leadership, training, mentoring and direction to a staff of student Ambassadors. Will serve as the key liaison for the Visitors Center and events with all academic and administrative offices to assist in our recruitment of students. Work closely with the event and VC staff on developing new and innovative strategies to improve the visitation and event experience, and measure return on investment (ROI).Qualifications
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree.3-5 years of experience in admissions recruitment in higher education and experience in supervising large and small events.Preferred Education and Experience: 5 years of experience in planning and executing large and small programs and working with a team.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Leadership & managerial skills – specifically leading a team of staff, motivating top performance, encouraging creativity, reinforcing organizational and institutional vision as team contributes to broad department and university goals. Ability to Multi-task and strong organizational skills with strong attention to details.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to travel in and out of state for recruitment events. Experience with working on large and small recruitment events, and ability to work with diverse populations.
