A Ph.D. in sociology or criminology is preferred. The ideal candidate would teach both criminology and sociology courses, including statistics and research methods. Our curriculum focuses on critical criminology, restorative justice, and racial equity in the criminal justice system. The candidate must demonstrate commitment to these perspectives and show how their teaching, research, and service would help further Hofstra's mission of building a culturally diverse and inclusive environment.
