Background:

In 2018, Salud and the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus formed a unique partnership currently called the Aurora Community Health Commons (ACHC) to establish a health campus focused on holistic care for underserved populations of Aurora. The ACHC will provide innovative primary health care, specialty care, educational programs (both health professions students and primary care residents), and programs to address social determinants of health focusing on food, housing, early childhood education, as well as workforce and economic development. The ACHC will ultimately be a health real-estate development located on 27-acres of land at the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Airport Boulevard. The foundation of the ACHC programming is the Aurora Community Health (ACH) clinic, a federally qualified health center (FQHC). Aurora Community Health is a partnership with Salud Family Health Centers and the University of Colorado School of Medicine and opened in a temporary space in 2020. The clinic will transition to a permanent location in Aurora by 2024 serving approximately 24,000 patients.

Position Summary:

The School of Medicine (SOM) Dean’s Office has an opening for a full time Business Services Professional.  The position is responsible for essential executive-level support to the ACHC Director of Clinical and Educational Innovation.  The position will coordinate the overall management of the Director’s daily, monthly, and annual schedules, to include setting priorities, determining access, scheduling and arranging meetings, setting and confirming appointments.

This position will work closely with the Business Services Professional supporting the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and help with larger project coordination at the ACHC as directed.   At the current stage of the ACHC project, this position will also handle all administrative aspects of the day-to-day operations of the ACHC, including preparing and coordinating materials, meeting planning and coordination, providing onsite support for trainings and events, processing purchase orders, invoices and honorariums, budget management and handling other arrangements related to core program administration as needed.

This position shall support other programs as assigned. Prioritizes duties and balances responsibilities to ensure an efficient service delivery system and adherence to program guidelines.  Improves program operational efficiency through organization, increased communication, dissemination of information, application of work standards, and tracking mechanisms. Works with Director and the Senior Associate Dean to identify projects that may not be on track or for which due dates are approaching. Sends reminders, schedules meetings to address issues, takes initiative to implement processes to prevent compromised customer service or missed deadlines.

Examples Work Performed:

  • Project Management
  • Compile data for Director of Clinical and Educational Innovation as requested to organize projects and task forces needed for the development of the programs housed at the ACHC.
  • Coordinate project communication and resources, such as needed by the Director of Clinical and Educational Innovation, the Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and members of the ACHC Executive committee.  
  • Intermittently coordinate special events, including the arrangements for event space, lecture honoraria and travel arrangements, programs and communication as outlined by the Clinical Affairs Office.
  • Compile data and prepare preliminary drafts for various reports, special studies and surveys.
  • Proofread and edit documents and presentations to ensure information is well organized, quantitative and qualitative data are current, backup detail is readily accessible in a timely manner. Anticipate the data needs for presentations, compiling data, and developing graphics ahead of deadlines. 
  • Provide professional support to the Director of Clinical and Educational Innovation
  • Coordinate and staff executive-level standing meeting(s), to include compiling agendas, taking minutes, handling related correspondence and communications, ranging from individual emails and memos to campus-wide email distributions, or composing minutes for the official record.
  • Coordinate travel and expenditures while staying within budget and adhering to University and SOM policies and procedures. 
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data and presentation tracking system which enables access to historical and current longitudinal data records and communications, ensuring adherence to University document retention policies; initiates and recommends changes in structure as required.
  • Provides additional administrative support to the ACHC as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of professional level experience supporting leadership in an administrative capacity.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of administrative experience.
  • Administrative support experience in higher education, medical school or health sciences setting.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks with independent judgment based upon a complex set of competing time and resource requirements and to handle changing workloads and demands as necessary.  Must be able to determine most efficient sequence of duties on any given day.

  • Ability to learn new skills, synthesize and apply knowledge from diverse disciplines
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $44,526- to $62,336.  

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
