St. Norbert College invites applications for a tenure track position in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2022. We seek individuals with teaching experience who are passionate about teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in areas that include networking, security, programming languages, artificial intelligence, and/or operating systems. The successful candidate must be able to teach a broad array of computer science courses, introductory as well as advanced. A typical teaching load is two courses per semester, in which each course meets for three hours in the classroom and two hours in a hands-on weekly lab component. Additional teaching opportunities in the winter and summer terms are available. Labs are designed to provide students with the opportunity to closely interact with faculty as the students experiment with concepts and extend their knowledge. We seek candidates committed to excellence in undergraduate education who will be actively involved in student-faculty collaborative research and maintain a strong research program in an area of Computer Science. The candidate will join the Computer Science department in a recently expanded and renovated science building that also houses Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, and the Green Bay campus of The Medical College of Wisconsin. A demonstration of teaching effectiveness and a research presentation will be part of the interview process.
