Description:

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. The open position is for candidates working in electronics in all IC design related areas, including but not limited to Analog/Mixed-Signal, RF/mmWave, DC/DC Converters and Power Management, PLLs/DLLs and timing circuits and other related application areas. The successful candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree in a relevant engineering field at the time of hire. The anticipated start date for the position is Fall 2022 with some flexibility for a later start based on individual needs.

UF recently announced a $70 million AI partnership with NVIDIA to create an AI-centric data center that houses the world's fastest AI supercomputer in higher education. Of particular relevance to these new faculty positions, the HWCOE is in the process of creating the programmatic backbone to UF’s efforts to change the future of education and workforce development through university-wide AI training and experiential learning efforts.

The ECE Department in the HWCOE is a vibrant, multidisciplinary, and highly collaborative environment. The Department’s external research expenditures are at a record high, $23.6M last year using the ASEE definition. The ECE graduate program ranks #17 among public ECE departments according to U.S. News and World Report. The department leads several university-wide multidisciplinary institutes related to electronics including the Warren B. Nelms Institute for the Connected World, the Florida Institute for CyberSecurity (FICS) Research, and the Multi-functional Integrated System Technology (MIST) Center.


Qualifications:

The successful candidate is expected to have a doctoral degree in a relevant engineering field at the time of hire.
